Our Approach

How every matter is handled at Anjung Melur

Listen first

Every matter begins with an unhurried conversation. The office asks questions before suggesting anything, because the best path forward depends entirely on what is actually happening in this particular family.

Explain clearly

Once the situation is understood, the office sets out the options in plain language — what each path involves, approximately how long it takes, what it is likely to cost, and what can reasonably be achieved.

Move at your pace

After the options are understood, the client decides whether to proceed and how. There is no pressure to act quickly. A matter waits when the client needs time, and every step is confirmed before it is taken.

Separation arrangements
Service 1

Separation Arrangements & Ongoing Representation

Support through a separation from the first discussion to the final orders, covering living arrangements, financial support, the family home and the practical details that are easy to overlook — such as school fees and vehicle ownership. The office keeps correspondence measured in tone, on the view that letters written today are read again years later. Clients set the pace and may pause the matter at any point.

What is covered

  • Financial maintenance and asset division
  • Living arrangements and family home decisions
  • School fees, vehicle ownership, and other overlooked details
  • Court filings and correspondence drafted and managed
  • Right to pause the matter at any stage

Private consultation
Service 3

Quiet Consultation

A single, private appointment for someone who has not yet decided whether to take advice at all. Nothing is filed, no follow-up contact is made unless requested, and the client keeps a short written note of what was discussed.

What is covered

  • What the law says about your specific situation
  • What a solicitor would typically do and what it would cost
  • What you can reasonably handle yourself without legal representation
  • A short written note of the discussion to keep

Standards applied across all services

Solicitor–client privilege

Confidentiality is a legal obligation, not a policy. Everything shared in this office remains protected under Malaysian legal professional privilege.

No surprises on cost

Every service has a published starting fee. Written estimates are provided and agreed before any work of substance begins.

Malaysian Bar compliance

All work is conducted in accordance with the Legal Profession Act 1976 and the professional conduct rules of the Malaysian Bar.

One working day responses

Every enquiry and every message from a client in an active matter receives a response within one working day.

Data protection (PDPA 2010)

Personal data is handled in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. No data is shared without client knowledge and consent.

Civil written tone

Correspondence is kept measured and civil. The office holds the view that how a matter is handled in writing shapes how it is resolved — and how both parties remember it later.

Not sure which service fits your situation?

The Quiet Consultation exists precisely for that. A single, private conversation helps clarify what is needed — and what is not. RM 145, no further obligation.
